Hello, Fantaticals! I apologize for the MASSIVE delay, as I was unable to post earlier; I'm going to assume that it had to do with the Cyberware issue. Today we are going to take a look into some different relationships. Some friendly, some not, and some maybe even romantic.
I really wanted to take a look into some of the pairs throughout the series, whether they are friendships, potential partners, or straight up completely romantic. Let's take a look into our Gleeship connections!
Will & Emma
I have seen a lot of theories tossed around that Will and Emma will go the same way as he and Terri did. The theory is that Emma will eventually become possessive like Terri did, which would cause him to seek someone else out for comfort (several have said Teri herself) which would do the same damage as it did between him and Terri since he technically sought comfort out in Emma.
While it is pointed out that she DOES see that he is repeating old patterns when she points out to him that he is compromising himself for her "crazy" the same way he did for Terri's, asking him how it's any different, I think people miss the fact that she actually points it out to him and that is what will make it different. Emma acknowledging that she sees him repeating old patterns, and then actually taking the time to discuss it with him is actually how she will prevent their marriage from falling apart like Will's and Terri's did; because she wants him to see the unhealthy cycle the way that he gently helped her get a control on her own problems.
Terri was extremely selfish in what she did, as we discussed the other day with her dark secret. If she had been honest with him, then maybe she could have saved the marriage; something she clearly realizes as later in the series when she speaks to him, she even admits that her therapist is helping her see what she did wrong.
Will does start to act differently after that, as well, showing that he cared enough to listen to her and take her advice to heart, right? Personally, I think this theory is a bad one, and that his relationship with Emma was much healthier than his marriage with Terri. Will and Terri splitting was actually the best thing for the two of them as Will found someone who supported him and everything he did or wanted to do, and Terri managed to realize that she needed help and was able to seek it out.
Sebastian & Blaine
I don't even know if I want to get started on this bag of worms... I loved Blaine, when they cast him as the Teenage Angel in the Grease episode, I was screaming my yes at the screen! However, he had quite a few red flags as we talked the other day about his and Kurt's relationship. It just seemed really weird that for someone who had their own massive set of red flags that they couldn't see someone else's red flags.
Sebastian was uber clingy from the second that Blaine set foot into Dalton and did "Dark Side" with them. It came as no shock to me to watch him flirting with Blaine regardless of what Kurt said to him, or how well known he made it that they were together. It felt a lot like Sebastian saw Blaine as a prize, so he didn't care if he broke him and Kurt up.
The only points I really give to Sebastian for acting at least half-way decently and he wasn't doing it for Blaine was when they basically dedicated their performance to Karofsky like the New Directions did. Other than that, Sebastian was just a whole duffle bag full of red flags.
Quinn & Puck
This one... This one has a lot of Gleeks confused. In Season 3, they made it very clear that the only thing they actually had in common with each other was Beth; there were no feelings or anything between them. Yet not long after, during the dual 100 episode special, he broke her and her Yale boyfriend up (which, I honestly don't disagree with, he was a piece of work himself) and then made it seem like they were each other's true loves and they decided to give each other a chance.
While I understand and agree that people DO grow up and mature and can realize they said things they shouldn't have, that really seemed to be a bit of a massive change for only having a couple years at most between the two moments. I won't disagree that it would have been beautifully poetic for them to have worked out, it also seemed a bit far-fetched for so soon after everything. Maybe if we had seen them together in the final scenes of the series, when they were doing the look into the future and stuff, I could understand. However, the 100th episode wasn't that long after all of that drama and it just seemed forced.
He may have joined the Air Force which may have helped him mature, but he was also still not quite 21 and only a Private. I've had enough experience around the Military that I can tell you, no matter what the background prior to joining the Military a 21-year-old Private is still extremely immature.
Sugar & Rory (& Wade/Unique??)
This duo definitely does not fall under the romantic type, but I have seen a couple theories regarding both of them that just makes so much sense and is also sort of entertaining. I already mentioned the theory of Sugar being a time traveler, but it seems as though she is NOT alone in this theory! Apparently, Rory is ALSO a time traveler, one who potentially even came back with Sugar.
While Sugar is supposedly Santana and Brittany's daughter who used time travel to make sure that Brittany actually goes to MIT early, it is a theory that Rory is Kurt and Blaine's son whose sole purpose is to make sure that Kurt doesn't get into NYADA, at least right away. They connect this to the fact that Rory and Sugar are basically never seen again after the two events above happened; you only see Rory once and it's basically as the ghost of Christmas Past type thing with Artie.
I included Wade/Unique in this because there had also been a mention of them being in the same situation, but the product of in-vitro of Kurt and Mercades; with Mercades eventually wanting a child but not a partner and Kurt volunteering his part of the needed DNA. This is backed up with the fact that they bonded with Mercades and Kurt and sought advice from the two of them. However, that could also be explained away as they saw that the two of them were the surest of who they were in New Directions.
While the theory of time travel is always a fun one (and I have read MANY time travel fanfictions), it may be a bit out there despite being an entertaining thought.
Azimio & Wade/Unique
This one took me a bit of digging and rewatching, but I think I can honestly see the potential connection. I didn't actually know his name until recently, but I remembered his face. Azimio Adams was seen off and on throughout the first few seasons, generally always as Karofsky's right-hand man when he is bullying the New Directions or throwing slushies in their faces. We see him one time by himself where he quotes parts of Olivia Newton Johon's song "Physical" to Sue as she walks down the hallway after the video of Sue is exposed online.
He is also the one to talk to Karofsky when he is putting his stuff into his bag after he is told he cannot play. Most will recognize him for wearing jersey number 75 in the locker room after the first scenes of the Season 2 episode "The Sue Slyvester Shuffle" as well as the player who stood up and ranted about "It's the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME" when Coach Beiste and Will tell them that ND and the Titans will be performing at halftime together.
Now, while reoccurring at first, he is still not seen often and so is relatively easily forgotten; he also only makes a single appearance in Season 3 during the third episode "Asian F" as a football player, and then during the musical, West Side Story.
In my digging, I actually discovered that he has a last name: Adams. Funny, this is the same name as Wade/Unique. With this knowledge, there is a theory floating around that Wade/Unique was always supposed to go to McKinley, but when they discovered that Azimio was there, they moved and refused to allow Wade/Unique to attend; but they allowed it after he left, which is why Wade appears at McKinley in Season 4. The theory comes down to having something to do with Azimio and Wade/Unique's parents hating each other; aka family drama.
What do you think about these relationship theories? Come join our community and tell us what you think! Join me tomorrow for our final day of Gleek Week. Until then, keep on theorizing, Fanaticals!

I was like who the fuck is azimio? And now i remember him
