Character Counterparts in Disney

Hello, Fanaticals! Welcome to a new week, where we will take a look at some darker Disney theories. While Disney is the one thing that, as children, we can always count on being lighthearted and fun but as we grow up and become adults, we definitely know better than to believe that for ourselves.
There has always been a running joke that you can find adult things throughout Disney, but if you actually look and even think about some theories you can find some truth to that "joke". Personally, my favourite one came from Mulan. It took me years to realize that the one ancestor says, "at least my granddaughter's not a cross-dresser" and after I realized it, I laugh so hard at that line every time. It's said very early on when they are arguing about what to do with her running off and joining the Army and is definitely one of my favourite scenes.
Let's take a look at some of theories behind what characters may be represented as someone else in other Disney movies.
Geri's Game
This theory is something that I believed before I even saw that it was circling around online. In this theory, it is that the old man who plays against himself in chess in the short "Geri's Game" (which appeared before the movie "A Bug's Life" both in theatres and before the movie when it released on VHS back in 1997) is actually the old man/toy restorer from Toy Story 2.
Like I said, I believed in this long before I discovered others did as well. The knobby fingers that ring the doorbell are definitely the same ones that moved chess pieces around. The big white bushy eyebrows, long pointed nose, and the slight hunch. While Al never actually says his name in Toy Storys, you can actually also hear the similarities of the voices of the old men.
Even better, I have stills of both:

As you can see, it's really not far-fetched to assume that these characters are, indeed, the same person! I noticed it ages ago, but seeing so many agree with me online, makes me feel less crazy about this theory.
Megara is Mother Gothel
Now, this theory falls a bit on the darker side of Disney, but still falls under family-friendly tags. It is also extremely plausible.
As we know, Hercules is a Greek God and at the end of the movie is offered to live in Olympus with his parents. This theory comes away from the theory that Meg either rejects living in Olympus with him, or there's even a possibility that he dies or IS dying at some point. This could have caused her to go hunt for other means of immortality which would have led her to the flower and subsequentially Rapunzel.
We all know that death and betrayal can cause huge changes in a person due to trauma response. Going from hero to villain wouldn't be so out there for someone who is a part of Disney, especially when you think about Descendants 3 when Audry went dark after Ben proposed to Mal.
Considering that all we know about Mother Gothel is that she has been around for centuries, with no idea of exactly how long she had been using the flower, it's actually quite plausible that Mother Gothel and Megara are the same person.
What do you think? Is it possible they just re-used an animation, or could Geri and the toy restorer be the same person? Did something happen between Meg and Herc that caused her to change so drastically? Come join our community and tell us your thoughts! Is there another character counterpart in Disney that you've seen? Join me tomorrow as we dive into some much darker theories about a beloved little boy who has been lost for years. Until then, keep on theorizing!
