Welcome back Fanaticals! We are just cruising through Disney Week, and I am so excited to bring you this next theory. Now, really, it’s a bit more than just a theory when you take into consideration the random little Easter eggs that Disney and Pixar leave, this theory (or theories if you consider how many characters and movies are involved) is actually very believable. It's not unusual to speculate about the little Easter Eggs that live in the Disney and Pixar movies, but a lot of them can provoke a whole new connection to a hidden world you may not have thought about.
Today, I bring you theories about family ties in Disney. While Disney makes it obvious when certain people are related to each other, there are some more subtle hints about others that could potentially be related; some hints aren’t even that subtle and those are the Easter eggs. The theories for today are actual a four-way possible family tie and has quite a bit of proof behind each that just makes these theories mor and more possible. Let’s get theorizing!
Anna and Elsa are Tarzan’s Sisters
Some people will incorporate Frozen 2 into this as proof that it is not true. However, you have to consider that there is still proof that both ship they found AND the one in Tarzan both belonged their parents. With that thought in mind, let’s go back to the beginning of Tarzan; there is a storm and a shipwreck in which only two people survive.
If you compare the animation of their looks to the portraits you DO see of Anna and Elsa’s parents, they look very similar. Therefore, the theory falls that when their parents were lost at sea, they did not perish but were shipwrecked. The shipwrecked couple had a son, Tarzan.
Following this line of thought, that would make Tarzan the younger brother of Anna and Elsa; their MUCH younger brother, as in Frozen 2 the ship had been downed only six years prior. Meaning that when Frozen 2 took place, Tarzan was only about five. This would also mean that their parents did not die at sea, but by the teeth of an animal. Personally, I would rather stick to the knowledge that my parents died at sea.
Now, as I said, I know there can be some holes poked into this, but I have gone through Frozen 2 myself to see what exact evidence was in the movie to prove that ship was their parents, as well as take nature into consideration. This took A LOT of time and thought to make sure that I not only got the correlations correct but that it made sense. Bear with me as we go through it, because it is very intricate.
The ship found in Frozen 2 was discovered in an unexpected location, suggesting it may have drifted far from its intended course; this is something that the girls state, and even though they found the maps with their mother’s handwriting it is still possible that the ship itself did not initially sink where they found it. Elsa's powers reveal a water memory of her parents, which includes dialogue about high waves. This imagery parallels the opening scene of Tarzan, where a ship is shown sinking amid rough seas. The ship in Tarzan, though ablaze with flames by the time it is shown to be sinking, could have eventually drifted to the location where Anna and Elsa found it in Frozen 2. Considering once the ship was underwater, we don’t know if the current from the storm was strong enough to take it elsewhere this is completely viable that it was taken to a different location. Now, another argument is that Tarzan was obviously on an island in the middle of the sea and had access to England (remember the appearance of Jane, her father, and Clayton), where the ship was found in a desert/barren area. You have to remember that Elsa broke the damn which released the water, which means the ship could have been carried from the sea into a river that was affected by the damn. Despite being damaged, the ship's remnants could still be identifiable, explaining its appearance in both films; in Frozen 2, it was completely broken apart and damaged in ways that could suggest more than just high waves damaged it. Thus, it's conceivable that the survivors of the shipwreck in Tarzan could be Anna and Elsa's parents, linking the two storylines and the potential siblings.
This theory has been around since the first Frozen, and obviously has some plausible points. reasonably, I love the thought that they may have a long-lost sibling out there and would adore seeing some form of crossover.
Rapunzel is Related to Them
Now, this theory sort of ties in with the one above, but there's some discrepancies on details. It's those details that we are going to explore today. This specific theory comes from a combination of places, the main one which stems from the Easter Egg at the end of Frozen during the Coronation/Wedding where we physically see Rapunzel and Eugene (Flynn) walking into the castle. This little bit shows that at the very least the two kingdoms have contact; the theories that followed almost seemed to spiral out of control.
It is not uncommon for Royals of another Country/Kingdom to go to a Wedding, Coronation, or even a Christening of another especially if they have normal day-to-day dealings or are in somehow connected. Part of this theory comes from the sinking of Anna and Elsa’s parent’s ship. Initially, we have no idea where they are headed; so when Rapunzel and Eugene pop up, it is assumed the possibility that they were heading to her parent’s wedding. While I definitely agree there was a high chance they could have been heading there, I highly doubt that it was for the wedding of her parents as Rapunzel looks very close in age to the girls.
According to not only ScreentRant, but also many Tumblr users, it was confirmed that Anna and Elsa's ages were 15 and 18 when their parents died. As Rapunzel was returned to her parents around her 18th birthday, as that's when she ventures out of the tower. This would place Elsa and Rapunzel at the same age, meaning it is very likely that their parents could have been setting off to either the celebration of her return, or her wedding to Eugene. However, in my research I discovered that the director of Frozen DID, in fact, confirm that they were on their way to Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding. If Rapunzel was 18/19 at her own wedding, and Elsa was 18 when their parents died, this puts all the girls very close in age.
While this proof could be more towards the fact that Corona and Arendale are either relatively close to each other or at the very least have close relations, it could also be that they are all related by blood; most likely through the girl's father since we find out in Frozen 2 that their mother was a forest-dweller. If that's true, then Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel, and even Tarzan are all family.
While these theories have generally been seen as separate, you can clearly see how they all also inter-connect; two sisters and., perhaps, a cousin who have yet to discover a missing family member. While there are some crazy theories out there that surround Disney, most of the ones that surround movies involving humans have a lot of proof that can connect one to another. I hope you enjoyed this crazy genealogy theory, tune in tomorrow for another fantastic fan fantasy that will truly blow your mind! Ive always loved the theory that anna and elsa are rapunzels cousins. And it is extremely plausable that tarzan is their brother, the only thing that may debunk the theory is the time placements of the movies
