Pokémon: Animalistic Tendencies

Happy Wednesday, Fanaticals! As we continue our Pokémon week, we are going to get a little bouncy with theory themes. This week we are covering everything from possessions, to death, to some random out-there thoughts and theories.
Pokémon has always been this complex, intriguing world that has as many twists and turns as you're not expecting to pop up. With so many adorable creatures that you could almost consider pets, how can something crazy and random not happen? It's still a reflection of a circle of life, just with mystical things that happen.
Let's take a look at some of those theories that involve some crazy stuff.
Mimikyu and Pichu
Some people have taken a BIG stretch in some of their theories when it comes to the origins of certain Pokémon; and yes, I'm including the theories of Cubone that I love and back. However, some have found reasons to connect the theory that Mimikyu are dead Pichu that could be considered true proof.
Mimikyu had a backstory that got a lot of love, a cute little thing that wanted to be popular; that's something I'm sure a lot of us could understand from one time or another. It wanted to be popular so bad that it would even go around dressed like Pikachu. However, the theory gives a whole different reason as to why it would dress like Pickachu and there is some interesting evidence that might connect it to truth.
In this theory, it states that Mimikyu is a Pichu who died before it could evolve and become a Pikachu. The "proof" behind this is that Mimikyu not only knows the move Thunderbolt, but also shares multiple moves with Pichu; not to mention it's a Ghost/Fairy type.
It also has two forms, a disguised form and a busted form which gives it the look of something that had died. Now grant it, it's need and want to dress as a Pikachu is why it looks the way it does as its "disguise/dress up" is a drawn-on oil rag.
Slowpoke is Omniscient
Slowpoke and Magikarp are two of the most picked on Pokémon out there, for several different reasons. While Magikarp is made fun due to its look as a literal fish out of water, Slowpoke is made fun of for literally being "slow" and "dopey". However, what people seem to forget is that Slowpoke is a Psychic Pokémon and when it evolves, it becomes what is the smartest Pokémon out there.
How can one that is considered so slow turn into something so smart? Because it has always been smart, since it is omniscient. If you have the weight of the knowledge of every single piece of information in the world, you would probably be a bit slow too. Slowpoke probably has to disassociate itself from its own personality so that it still knows who it is as its brain is overloaded and floaty.
When you are out and floaty, though, there is always something that will ground you right? In this case, the theory runs that a Shellder's bite hinders this impossible intelligence and grounds it which is where the intelligence shines through.
Voltorb is Possessed
Now, when I first found this theory, it was one specific Pokémon but since then I have found a secondary line that leads to a second Pokémon potentially behind the theory.
These theories come from, a funny common theme, that they both have a similar shape to Voltorb: Haunter and Rotom. Now, I had never heard the Rotom side before but from my understanding it runs down the same lines as Haunter. The theory that either a Haunter or Rotom became trapped in a Pokéball, and that is where Voltorb was created. The base for this is due to Voltorb's appearance: a Pokéball but with a missing button, right down to the red on top and white on bottom.
While you can say that it does evolve, so that disproves this it actually does not. Especially when you stop to consider the fact that its evolution is the exact opposite: red on bottom and white on top. Truthfully, I feel this actually proves more to the theory. If there is any Pokémon stuck in a Pokéball and it evolves into and exact mirror of what it is when it already looks LIKE a Pokéball, then isn't that just more of a truth?
Pokémon are just Animals
In the land of dwelling where Pokémon roam, it is just another parallel to our world. Canonically, it is mentioned that there are some species of Pokémon that are borderline extinct. We even see people drinking MooMoo Milk, obviously by the name we can put two and two together about where it came from.
In the anime, it is shown the humans eating a variety of dishes that include meat; but where does that meat come from? On the flip side, not all Pokémon are like Bulbasaur and are plant eaters. Therefore, it wouldn't be much of a leap to suggest that Pokémon who are clearly carnivores eat each other.
"Of course they're animals, look at them!" Yes, many Pokemon have the looks of animals, but that does not always necessarily mean that they ARE animals, especially when you throw in the fact there are Ghost, Fairy, and even Metal types that are probably not eaten. Then you have Pokémon like Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander: the original three, alongside Pikachu, but they have very animalistic looks. Squirtle looks very much like a turtle, while Charmander takes on some lizard-like qualities. It's not very far-fetched that both Pokémon and the humans alike will eat another Pokémon.
What do think about the theories of Pokémon and their animalistic tendencies? Are they true? Are there Pokémon who were created from accidents? Come join our community and share your thoughts! Until tomorrow, keep on theorizing Fanaticals!

Ive never heard the voltorb theory before. Learning lots this week! Mimkyu is my favorite ghost pokemon
