Fanny's Folly: A Sinister Scheme in Grove's Plan?

Welcome back, Fanaticals! Today we are going to deviate from the show and take a look at a theory that stemmed from the Bob's Burgers Movie. I would love to shout out the couple that own a coffee spot in my local mall's food court. They LOVE Bob's Burgers and were a huge help in discovering this theory; it kind of took off and blossomed from the initial thoughts about Fanny and how she had such a small part but yet we still never see her again, as Season 14 takes place after the events of the movie.

Let's get diving into this insane tangle of web that comes from a small, one minute appearance of Felix Fischoeder's girlfriend Franny.

Franny Was a Part of Grover's Plan

For anyone who hasn't seen the show, in Season 5, Fanny goes to jail for trying to get rid of Bob and Calvin Fischoeder. Calvin gets his brother Felix out of trouble, but Fanny is ultimately left on the hook for it. After this episode, we really don't hear about Fanny ever again. That is... Until the movie.

After ages of having Fanny out of our thoughts in regard to the show, in the movie she suddenly makes an appearance as she is on FaceTime with Felix as he is packing his bags. It comes out that Fanny is out of prison and the two of them are going to hop international borders to start a new life.

Several questions pop up surrounding her newfound freedom: how did she get out, what type of release is she on, and when did she get out? When you really stop to think about everything, they don't actually mention how she is out of prison. After the moment of FaceTime, we never see her again in the movie despite there are supposed plans for her and Felix to run away together. This just brings about yet another question: is she really out of jail? At first, I thought they were jumping waters because she had broken out and escaped and they seemed to be very secretive about the fact they were leaving, but later considerations make me believe something much more nefarious was going on.

Felix is under the impression that the submarine is going to take him and Fanny into international waters, but yet she never arrives to the hideout. In the end, we discover that Grover has a whole plan to get rid of the brothers. With Fanny's quite obvious physical absence, it makes you wonder if she was a part of his plans as she didn't stumble into the whole thing like Bob and Linda did.

Grover is a lawyer, and they live in a small town which means he could actually have a bit of pull with the courts if he is as well-known as he seems to be. Keep in mind that this is not the first time we have met him, as he is a semi-reoccurring character in the series, we just don't see him as often as we do the brothers. If we go based off the theory that Grover is well-known and a very good lawyer, it makes sense that he would have some pull that could help him get Fanny to be a part of a very poorly formulated plan.

While Fanny and Felix are FaceTiming, you literally see nothing but her face and, even then, not in its entirety. To me, this is a bit suspicious because it means she either has a giant head, or she was holding the phone close so that Felix couldn't see her background. This is where I wonder if she was really out of prison, or if Grover managed to get things arranged that she could FaceTime Felix and convince him that she was out.

If Fanny was still in prison, Grover would definitely not want Felix to know which would explain why you can't see her background. However, if he got her out and promised her that she could still have what she wanted then she wouldn't want Felix knowing where she is being hidden; as I'm sure Grover wouldn't either.

However, it would have been a brilliant story to get Felix to the hideout and the sub to get rid of him; Calvin deciding to go with was just a bonus as then Grover didn't need to convince him to go to the hideout. Honestly, it would make a lot of sense that Grover managed to convince and use Fanny to get to Calvin and Felix. She was very clearly still mad that Felix got off scoot free while she was thrown into prison, so it's not far-fetched to think that she was a very willingly participant to get rid of the brothers; especially if Grover promised her hush money so that she could still make her record and her nightclub, even if she had to do it under an alias.

There's a lot of evidence that adds up to the fact that it is entirely possible that Fanny is on the whole plan with Grover, and it honestly just opens up more questions that will never be answered considering Bosco arrested him for the original crime of the movie.

What do you think, Fanaticals? Was Fanny in on the plot, or was it just a coincidence and she ran off on her own? Come join our community and trade your theories in our forums!
